Utilizing Ceph filesystem for Scientic Cloud, A perfomance and stability analysis
In this thesis we would like to identify the strength and weaknesses of Ceph file system within the context of scientific Cloud. Deploying a system like Ceph may be trivial task but identifying the usability while keeping the performance intact is something that requires deeper system understanding. The other alternative Gluster filesystem has been succesfully evaluated and used in production environment. The outcome of this thesis will help us decide whether Ceph filesystem will be a better option for providing scalable solution or not.
Prerequisities: Distributed systems, basics of filesystems, good knowledge of programming and shell scripting, working experience with Linux operating system.
