Radio controlled drones are providing a new low-cost solution for short range aerial surveillance. One important application scenario for this kind of surveillance is detecting objects or materials in hazardous environments from a distance. The objective of this thesis is to develop and evaluate computer vision algorithms for detecting anomalous objects from video streams captured using radio-controlled drones.
