Submitting summaries and essays

The summaries and essays done on this course must be submitted via the Moodle environment of University of Helsinki.  The deadlines for submitting these scientific writing exercises are the following

• the summary is on Friday 14th of October, and
• the essay on Friday 2nd of December.

Both the summary and the essay should be submitted in a pdf-format. The requirements for these exercises are described in the first set of slides on Scientific writing and in Moodle. Note that course Orientation to MSc Studies is participating in the pilot project of University of Helsinki on plagiarism detection systems, and that all the exercises submitted on this course will be run through a plagiarism detection system called Turnitin.

Using Moodle and Turnitin

Each student of the course must first register for course 582517 Orientation to MSc Studies in the Moodle of University of Helsinki. Log in to Moodle with your university account, and register yourself after that for the course. The key needed for the registration is O2MScS11.  Remember to the change the language of the system to English.
