Youtube is a very popular video content provider. The collection and analysis of YouTube data traces can help us to understand user behaviors and patterns, and develop more efficient data delivery solutions. We are designing new content caching and distribution algorithms. The core of this topic is to 

• Analyse the YouTube data trace and identify new findings in terms of users behaviors and patterns. 
• Design new centralized content caching algorithms. 
• Design new distributed content distribution algorithms.

We expect that 2 students can focus on this topic and desirable candidates have the following skills: 

• Knowledge of distributed systems and computer networks; 
• Knowledge of data mining; 
• Proficient in C/Java and network programing skills
