There are different styles of courses in respect to the teaching language: double-language courses, single-language courses with English textbook material and opportunity to take separate exam on the material, and courses where the teaching language alternates between Finnish and English in subsequent years. Seminars are always announced with their working language, and each term there is some seminars working in English.

The following indicates the current status of regularly taught courses:

• Operating systems - mainly in Finnish (Finnish: lectures + exercise groups; might have exercise groups available in English; course book only in English)
• C-programmming - double language course (on-line course with exercise support in paja)
• Distributed systems - in English
• Internet protocols - in English
• Service Ecosystems - in Engish  ( The course includes an individual essay that can be done in Finnish, English or Swedish.)
• Overlay and peer-to-peer networks - in English
• Mobile middleware - in English
• other courses ... continue where confirmed to be available in English in larger extend than just having an English exercise group on request

Seminar registration for Fall is open in previous Spring term (already in early May) and vice versa. Visiting students are therefore requested to make their wishes on seminar participation known as soon as they receive information about their acceptance and access to the starting year's teaching plans. There are a few seats reserved for visiting students, if in the original plan of the student. New master students do not participate to the seminars during the first Fall.
