Seminar: Trends in Service-Oriented Computing - Model-driven Integration : Schedule

Week  1: Tue 8.9 at 2pm: Getting organised and small introduction to the topic area (slides)

  • Outcome: we work according to the study seminar format (there is an open choise on the slides, which was decided on during the session).

Week 2: No joint session. Each member meets with Lea in private to discuss the choise of topic area, the style of it (introductory or advanced), and personal writing focus.

  • Current members and topic idea domains:
    • Haider, Akkas (acceptance testing ...)
    • Mahmood, Syed S U
    • Myyrä, Antti J (Controlling information access with policies)
    • Koskelin, Jukka T (Compliance)

Week 3: Note the change here. No joint session. Some members need another round of discussion on the content to deepen the basic background understanding to form a healthy outline for the paper, while others are in good position to proceed further. By moving the short introductory presentations to their normal position we get more mutual discussion when the papers are in good speed.

Week 4: Tue 29.9. 2015:

  • A joint session where each tells briefly what topic they chose and what they intend to do with it. Prepare for 5-7 mins talk, with optional 1-2 slides. We conclude with mutual discussion on the relationship of the topics.
  • For this date, we also write, based on this brief abstracts to be posted on the (intranet) web page!  This helps you to recall the program details and know where there is common ground with others. Common ground is a positive thing, not to be worried of.
  • We also fix the still open schedule of deadlines together.
  • We discuss the points on grading and peer reviews, verbal presentations in the degree we have time and needs.

Weeks 5-7: No joint session, but advise for papers and scoping of the task, and ad-hoc minilectures on domain area details is going on as needed.

Week 8, Paper deadline Tue 27. 10. 2015

  • We meet for discussing advise on review commentary and verbal presentation
  • This starts the week for peer review

Week 9 , Tue 3.11. 2015: (Lea is likely to have a meeting starting at 15.00? May need resolving?)

  • 10 days for fixing the papers

Week 10, Final papers due on Tuesday 10.11. 2015, midnight.
