Preliminary assignment 2016

As one part of the admission process to MSc in Computer Science program, applicants will have to submit a preliminary assigment in February 2016. It will be used in the student selection.

The preliminary assigment will be sent before Wednesday February 10, 2016 to all applicants, who had filled the on-line application to Computer Science at University of Helsinki.

The assignment has been sent on Feb 4, 2016 to the email address given in the UAF form.

You may ignore the assignment, if you did not sent your paper application at all or you know that your language skills do not meet our requirements.

We received approximately 230 electronic applications and we will be able to accept only 30-40 students. The minimum required degree level for acceptance will be close to or even above 80% (4 / 5 or GPA 3.4 with maximum 4). So, if your GPA is less than 3.4 out of 4 or your marks are less than 67-70%, you most probably will be denied admission based on your degree level.

If you do not submit this preliminary assignment on time, you will automatically be denied admission.

The deadline for the submission is February 29, 2016 at 15:00 (3 PM) Finnish time (13:00 at UTC).

Please notice that it is important to make a submission, but it does not have to be fully solved. We will accept also partial solutions.

We expect you to submit ONE PDF FILE that contains your answers to all of the questions in the assignment. Only if you are not able to create a PDF file, you may submit the file in rtf, doc, docx or odt format.

The file is submitted using our submission system's web page:  https://elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/57626/
