Remote connections (ssh, scp and rsync) are allowed on servers melkki.cs.helsinki.fi, melkinpaasi.cs.helsinki.fi and melkinkari.cs.helsinki.fi.

Login with your University AD account username and password.

For ssh in Linux/Unix remember to specify your user name: ssh username@melkki.cs.helsinki.fi

Transfer files to/from the server in Linux / Unix enviroment using scp or sftp programs.

For Windows you can download free clients: Putty for ssh terminal sessions and WinSCP for file transfer.

Ssh connection is terminated with the command logout or exit.

The CS Department home directory is accessible from the university network with File Explorer at address \\nas-fs.cs.helsinki.fi\home\username and group directories at \\nas-fs.cs.helsinki.fi\group\groupname. Outside university network a VPN connection is required (Pulse Secure in Windows).
