Planning your studies (FM-HOPS)

A personal study plan (PSP, FM-HOPS) is a compulsory part of master's studies.

Student of Networking and Services has to focus on one profile area within the specialisation line. This focus area follows the students on interests and also the selected compulsory course. The degree requirements are relatively flexible here, student must select the advanced courses based on the specialisation line's guidelines. This means that several of the advanced courses, but not all, must enhance your expertise on one special focus area.

Simplified process: Use the degree requirements as your base line and select the courses most interesting to you.  When selecting the courses to your study plan and your degree base your selection either on your ideas about your future thesis or simply on your own interests about the content. Then oganise the courses to periods using the model schedule, teaching program and information about prerequisites as your guidelines here. Once you have your prelimiary versoin ready in OODI, the PSP tool) or in a spreadsheet (like the model file) make an appointment with special tutor (Tiina Niklander) for discussion about your plan.
