The Head of the Department is Professor Sasu Tarkoma and the Deputy Heads of the Department is Veli Mäkinen (1st Deputy Head) and Valtteri Niemi (2nd Deputy Head).

Department council

The department council comprises three professors, the representatives of the department staff, and three students. The members of the department council are elected every three years. The department council has a secretary who makes sure that the minutes of the meetings are distributed.
